Hugo Broos has named three experienced goalkeepers in his 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ronwen Williams – Mamelodi Sundowns
South Africa’s undisputed number one. Williams has been among the best goalkeepers in Africa over the past two seasons and the backbone of a dominant Mamelodi Sundowns. A commanding presence who organises his defence superbly.

Sipho Chaine – Orlando Pirates
Chaine broke the Betway Premiership clean sheet record with 21 this season – a remarkable achievement that played a central role in Pirates’ first title in 14 years. A genuine challenger to Williams for the starting berth.
Ricardo Goss – Siwelele FC
The least experienced of the three at international level but a reliable and technically sound goalkeeper who has earned his place through consistent domestic performances.
