Here is the full list of trophies, individual awards and records he set along the way.

Individual awards

He was named in the Team of the Tournament at three European Championships: 2004, 2012 and 2016. He won the top scorer award at Euro 2020 and finished as top scorer at the 2019 Nations League finals, where his hat-trick against Switzerland in the semi-final helped Portugal to the title.

Portugal national team records

Ronaldo retires as Portugal’s most-capped player and all-time leading scorer, with 146 goals in 234 appearances. Both are records in men’s international football.

He broke Ali Daei’s record of 109 international goals on 1 September 2021, scoring twice late on to beat the Republic of Ireland 2-1. In June 2023, he became the first man to win 200 caps and marked the occasion with the winner against Iceland, earning a Guinness World Record. He also scored 10 hat-tricks for Portugal.

FIFA World Cup records

He reached the sixth with two goals in Portugal’s 5-0 win over Uzbekistan in Houston, which also took him past Eusébio as Portugal’s leading World Cup scorer. His first World Cup hat-trick came in a 3-3 draw with Spain in 2018.
