Kai Havertz has become the highest-scoring German in Premier League history after his winner against Liverpool on Sunday took his tally to 46 goals.
The 27-year-old moved ahead of former Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who previously held the record with 45 goals.

Havertz struck in the 16th minute at Anfield, turning home Declan Rice’s low cross to secure a 1-0 victory and end Arsenal’s 14-year wait for a Premier League win at Liverpool.
The goal also ended a nine-match scoring drought for the German international, who has faced criticism over his performances in front of goal.
Since arriving in England from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020, Havertz has scored 19 Premier League goals for Chelsea and a further 27 for Arsenal following his £65-million move across London in 2023.
His achievement sees him move ahead of several distinguished German internationals who have graced the English top flight.
Former Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross scored 34 Premier League goals, while former Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil registered 33 and Tottenham Hotspur legend Jurgen Klinsmann finished with 29.

Havertz’s career in England has already produced several memorable moments, most notably his winning goal for Chelsea against Manchester City in the 2021 Champions League final.
However, his latest milestone recognises his consistency over six seasons in English football, having established himself as an important attacking figure for both London clubs.
For Arsenal, the victory at Anfield carried further significance, sending Mikel Arteta’s side three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.
And for Havertz, it provided another landmark in a career that has already delivered domestic and European silverware.
