Longest scoring streaks in Champions League history

Harry Kane has scored in 10 Champions League games in a row for Bayern Munich. Here are the longest scoring runs in the competition’s history, and how close he is to the record.

Harry Kane can match one of the Champions League’s great records on Tuesday night. The Bayern Munich striker has scored in 10 Champions League games in a row, one short of Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of 11, and Bayern visit Atlético Madrid at 22:00.

UEFA counts runs from the group stage or league phase through to the final, so qualifiers don’t count. Here are the longest streaks in the competition’s history.

Cristiano Ronaldo: 11 games (Real Madrid, 2017-18)

The record. Ronaldo started the run with two goals in Real Madrid’s 4-1 win over Juventus in the 2017 final. He then scored in all six group games the following season, both legs of the last 16 against PSG and both legs of the quarter-final against Juventus. That added up to 17 goals in 11 games, and Madrid went on to win the trophy again.

Harry Kane: 10 games and counting (Bayern Munich, 2026-27)

Kane’s run goes back to last season, and he has scored 12 goals during it. His penalty in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal on matchday 3 took him past Robert Lewandowski and Ruud van Nistelrooy into second place. A goal in Madrid would equal Ronaldo’s record.

Ruud van Nistelrooy: 9 games (Manchester United, 2002-03)

The Dutchman was one of Europe’s deadliest finishers at Old Trafford. His run of nine was the record for 15 years until Ronaldo matched it and then broke it in 2018.

Robert Lewandowski: 9 games (Bayern Munich, 2019-20, 2020-21)

Lewandowski scored in nine straight Champions League games in the season Bayern won the trophy. He did it again the next season. He’s the only player with two runs of nine or more.

Cristiano Ronaldo: 8 games (Real Madrid, 2013-14)

Ronaldo also appears further down the list. His run of eight came in 2013-14, the season Real Madrid won La Décima, their 10th European Cup.
