The Betway Premiership schedule has taken an unexpected turn this week, with the Premier Soccer League forced to shuffle its midweek fixture list.
Seven league matches initially scheduled for Wednesday have officially been postponed due to the upcoming national elections taking place across the country.
However, cup football takes center stage on Tuesday evening as Mamelodi Sundowns host Golden Arrows in a blockbuster Carling Knockout quarter-final clash.
Sundowns and Arrows face off in Carling Kncokout
Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows will kick off the Carling Knockout quarter-final action at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The fixture was brought forward to Tuesday due to Sundowns’ upcoming CAF Super Cup commitment against USM Alger on Sunday afternoon at the same venue.
The Brazilians enter the cup tie in high spirits after dismantling Durban City 4-1 in the Betway Premiership over the weekend. A brace from Thabang Matuludi alongside strikes from Iqraam Rayners and Antonio van Wyk ensured full points for Miguel Cardoso’s side.
Golden Arrows, by contrast, arrive in Pretoria looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 derby defeat to AmaZulu in the league.
