Ouaddou’s three favourite Pirates players so far this season

Today we take a look at the three Orlando Pirates players who Abdeslam Ouaddou has leaned upon most heavily in the opening stretch of the campaign.

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has rotated his squad heavily across competitions this season, but three names stand out as his go-to men.

The Buccaneers started the season chasing no less than five trophies, and with close to 60 fixtures looming if everything goes according to plan, Ouaddou has been forced to shuffle his pack regularly.

Despite his rotation policy, which he has made no secret of, three Orlando Pirates players have already logged over a thousand minutes of action just a quarter of the way into the campaign.

Most used Bucs players so far this season

Leading the pack is goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, who remains the undisputed first-choice between the sticks with 1,290 minutes under his belt. Chaine has been incredible this season, keeping 10 clean-sheets in 14 matches.

Right behind him sits defender Lebone Seema on 1,262 minutes, cementing his place as an indispensable pillar in the backline. He may be young, however he’s already establishing himself as one of the top defenders in the country.

Winger Kamogelo Sebelebele has been the third most used player at Orlando Pirates on 1,001 minutes, underlining just how key he has been to Pirates’ injury-hit attack in the opening stretch of the season.

While the season still has a long way to go, it may be difficult to catch this Bucs trio given their form and just how heavily Ouaddou is able to depend on them, considering their steady form.
