Bafana Bafana and Rangers defender Olwethu Makhanya has been named Scottish Premiership Player of the Month for September.
The 22-year-old has made a strong start to life in Scotland after joining Rangers from Philadelphia Union, having previously begun his career at Stellenbosch FC.
Rangers won all four of their Scottish Premiership matches in September, with Makhanya playing an important role in a defence that conceded just once during the month.

His performances earned him the league’s individual honour, while Rangers coach Derek McInnes was named Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month.
The recognition capped an excellent September for the Glasgow club and highlighted how quickly Makhanya has settled into his new surroundings.
The defender has represented Bafana Bafana and will hope his continued form in Scotland strengthens his case for further opportunities with the national team.
