Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly only return to the Portugal squad if head coach Jorge Jesus leaves his post following the pair’s recent fallout.
The 41-year-old left the national camp last week after being left on the bench against Norway and learning he would not start against Denmark.
Ronaldo subsequently announced his international departure, but CNN Portugal reports that he could return if Jesus is no longer in charge.
The Portuguese FA and Jesus have reportedly attempted to repair the relationship in recent days without success.
Jesus previously insisted there was no conflict with Ronaldo and maintained that he had done nothing wrong in his handling of the veteran forward.
