South African superstar Relebohile Mofokeng scored his first official goal for Bafana Bafana on Wednesday evening against Eritrea.
Mofokeng previously found the back of the net for the national team in March 2025 during a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Polokwane however that match was voided due to South Africa fielding an in-eligible player in Teboho Mokoena.
Mokoena was suspended for the clash however an error on the management side saw him take to the field, which then resulted in the match result being overturned by FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee in the form of a 3-0 win for Lesotho.
Today however they were was no stopping the Belgian based 21-year-old, who gave Bafana the lead in Cairo at the Al-Salam Stadium.
Oswin Appollis’ delightful through-ball was well controlled and finished off expertly into the bottom corner by the Bafana fan-favourite. You can take a look at the goal below.

He didn’t stop there though, completing his brace while doubling Bafana’s lead on the stroke of half-time with a wonderful strike into the bottom corner after cutting in from the left-flank and dribbling his way past his marker.

At the time of posting, South Africa went into the half-time break with a 2-0 lead thanks to Mofokeng’s brace.
