Kaizer Chiefs youngster Steven Mendes is making his mark for Amajita at the COSAFA U20 Championship, which doubles as a qualifier for the 2027 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mendes starred again in South Africa’s 4-2 win over Zambia, scoring twice and adding an assist as Amajita came from 1-0 down.
The performance earned him a second Man of the Match award of the tournament.

Mendes now has five goals and one assist in three matches, giving him six goal contributions and putting him at the top of the scoring charts.
Chiefs also hailed his progress from their reserve ranks to the international stage, with Amajita’s run having secured qualification for the 2027 U20 AFCON.
