Mamelodi Sundowns welcome Saudi giants Al Ahli to Loftus Versfeld Stadium for a massive 2026 FIFA Intercontinental Cup showdown on Saturday.
The Brazilians booked their place after lifting the CAF Champions League title last season, while Al Ahli arrive as reigning AFC Champions League winners.
Sundowns face a formidable opponent loaded with global heavyweights like Ivan Toney, Édouard Mendy, Galeno, and Francisco Trincão.
The Brazilians however are well acquainted with the global stage following their FIFA Club World Cup appearance last year. Also, several of their players represented Bafana Bafana at this year’s FIFA World Cup.

Action at Loftus Versfeld gets underway at 15:00 and the match will be televised live on SuperSport 205.
Saturday’s encounter effectively acts as a ‘quarter-final’ meaning there must be a winner on the day. In the event of a draw after 90 minutes, extra time and penalties will decide the outcome.
Intercontinental Cup format
The winner of Saturday’s Africa/Asia clash will face the winner between CONCACAF Champions League winners Toluca FC and the pending Copa Libertadores champions.
Thereafter, the winner from that clash will face UEFA Champions League champions Paris Saint-Germain who were granted a free pass into the final.
