Former Kaizer Chiefs and Baroka FC star Siphelele Ntshangase looks set to make his eagerly awaited return to professional football.
Once dubbed one of the most talented players in the country, Ntshangase’s career took a very different turn, proving once again that raw talent alone is never enough in football.
The skillful midfielder sealed a dream move to Kaizer Chiefs back in 2018 after starring for Baroka FC. Ntshangase was expected to set the stage alight and was even handed the famous number 10 jersey at Naturena.
Unfortunately for him, he failed to live up to the billing at the Glamour Boys, making just 38 appearances over three years.
He failed to find the back of the net in Chiefs colours while registering just two assists, and the club eventually released him in 2021.
He tried to resurrect his career thereafter, but stints at Marumo Gallants and Black Leopards proved fruitless. He was later spotted at Limpopo ABC Motsepe League side Sunrise FC, but his time in the third tier didn’t last long either.
Ntshangase set for professional return
Now, the playmaker looks set to finally return to professional football after sealing a move to Eswatini MTN Premier League side Mbabane Black Eagles, according to FARPost.
“Ntshangase is set to link up with his new teammates in Eswatini at the end of the week. The 33-year-old joins the club as a free agent,” the publication reported.
In total, Ntshangase made 58 appearances in the South African top-flight, scoring two goals and providing five assists. He will be hoping for a successful return to the pitch, and there is no doubt that his natural abilities can still add value to his new team.
