Ipswich 2-4 Arsenal
Arsenal’s academy graduates stole the show, with Dowman scoring twice, either side of an early Madueke goal, before Merino made it four just before the hour.
Ipswich pulled two back late through Mehmeti and Akpom, but both goals came only after Arsenal were already out of sight.
Liverpool 3-1 Tottenham
Liverpool made light work of Tottenham at Anfield, with Mac Allister opening the scoring early before Gakpo doubled the lead in the second half. Gallagher pulled one back for Spurs, but Szoboszlai settled any doubt with a third for Liverpool deep into stoppage time.

Peterborough 3-3 Barnsley (Peterborough win 7-6 on penalties)
A six-goal thriller at London Road needed penalties to separate the sides. McGeehan put Barnsley ahead inside a minute, before Leonard and an Ormerod goal turned it around for Peterborough, only for Cleary’s first goal to level things just before half-time.
Cleary struck again after the break to put Barnsley 3-2 up, before Ormerod’s second of the night deep in the game forced a 3-3 draw and a shootout, which Peterborough eventually won 7-6.
Reading 1-2 Brentford
Brentford made a fast start through Wilson inside three minutes, and a first-half strike from Carvalho doubled their lead before the break.
Reading pulled one back through O’Connor in the second half, but it proved no more than a consolation as the Bees held on for the win at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.

West Ham 2-3 Fulham
Fulham had to be pegged back twice but eventually got the better of West Ham in a five-goal thriller.
Muniz put the visitors ahead early, before Morato levelled for West Ham, and Palacios restored Fulham’s lead before the break, only for Pablo to draw West Ham level again right on half-time. Bobb settled it for Fulham with 12 minutes to go.
Everton host Wolves, Fleetwood face Sheffield United, and Coventry take on Aston Villa on Wednesday, with Manchester United hosting Brighton the same evening before Manchester City close out the round against Norwich on Thursday.
