Stalemates dominate Saturday’s Premiership action

Chippa United, Milford, Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy each collected a point as Saturday’s Betway Premiership programme produced two goalless draws.

Chippa and Milford opened the day with a 0-0 draw at Buffalo City Stadium, despite both sides creating opportunities to claim all three points.

Azola Tshobeni forced an early save from Milford goalkeeper Lungile Nkosi before Sicelo Masilela sent a long-range effort narrowly wide at the opposite end.

Chippa were the stronger side after the interval. Justice Figuareido passed up a promising opening, while Muzomuhle Khanyi struck the post as the hosts pushed for their first league win of the season.

Milford nearly snatched victory in stoppage time when Sifiso Mdluli’s header was tipped onto the crossbar by Stanley Nwabali. The Chilli Boys then scrambled the rebound clear to preserve a point.

The result left Chippa winless after five matches, with four points from four draws. Milford moved to eight points after six outings.

Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy also settled for a 0-0 draw at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in the day’s late fixture.
