Rogers, Palmer star as Chelsea edge Fulham

Morgan Rogers got on the scoresheet as Xabi Alonso's Chelsea earned a hard fought win against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Monday night.

It didn’t take long for the Blues to get their season under way, with Brazilian forward Joao Pedro lifting a superb finish over Bernd Leno inside the opening 60 seconds.

Fulham found an equalizer through Josh King, who was arguably Fulham’s best performer on the pitch. Just before the break, British record signing Rogers scored his first premier league goal since his arrival for Aston Villa to give the visitors a 2-1 lead at the break.

Cole Palmer got in on the action after the restart to make it 3-1, with the front-three showing signs of becoming a serious threat in the league this season. Fulham made it 3-2 thanks to a goal from Gonzalo Garcia.
