Seven Kaizer Chiefs players set to miss Sundowns clash

Kaizer Chiefs will have to dig deep this weekend if they wish to pick up a first league win over Sundowns in over five years!

Kaizer Chiefs could be without no less than seven key players for their blockbuster clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The Glamour Boys welcome rivals Masandawana to the FNB Stadium for a crucial Betway Premiership encounter.

Coach Fernando Da Cruz’s side will be looking to maintain their perfect start in the league, however they might have to do so without some key faces.

Amakhosi face massive squad depth test

The Soweto giants are dealing with a mounting injury list that threatens to stretch their squad depth to the limit against a star-studded Sundowns side.

“Ethan Chislett, Flavio Da Silva, Bradley Cross, Paseka Mako, Nkanyiso Shinga, Rushwin Dortley and Faiz Abrahams are those expected to remain sidelined – either due to injury or lack of match fitness for now,” according to Idiski Times.

The Glamour Boys haven’t beaten Mamelodi Sundowns in the league since 2021. Though it is still early in the season, a win this weekend will signal their readiness to challenge for the Betway Premiership title under Da Cruz.

Action at the FNB Stadium is scheduled to get underway at 15:00. Fans have strongly been advised to arrive at the stadium well before kick-off to avoid delays.
