Da Cruz sweating over fitness of key Kaizer Chiefs players

Kaizer Chiefs head into tonight's heavyweight Betway Premiership clash against Sekhukhune United with a number of injury concerns.

Kaizer Chiefs welcome Sekhukhune United to the FNB Stadium on Wednesday night for an important Betway Premiership fixture.

Fernando Da Cruz’s side will be hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s disappointing loss against Golden Arrows which saw them crash out of the MTN8 Cup in the first round.

Standing in their way tonight however is a Sekhukhune United side brimming with confidence. Babina Noko followed their opening league victory over Durban City with a solid 4-3 win over AmaZulu in the MTN8 Cup over the weekend.

Kaizer Chiefs vs Sekhukhune: Key match details

The Glamour Boys host Sekhukhune at the FNB Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 19:30. The match will be televised live on SuperSport Variety 3.

Amakhosi coach confirms injury concerns

Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz has confirmed that both Flavio Silva and Ethan Chislett are doubtful for tonight’s clash due to injury niggles. The duo missed last weekend’s MTN8 clash and it remains to be seen whether they’ve recovered in time.

Both Pule Mmodi and Wandile Duba are also doubtful for the Sekhukhune clash. The duo are being treated with caution especially with a blockbuster fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns looming next.

The Glamour Boys enter tonight’s clash in second position on the log standings while United are in sixth. A victory for either side however could very well propel them to top of the table by the end of the evening.
