Orlando Pirates supporters have every reason to be excited after the club completed the blockbuster signing of Norwegian striker Sebastian Pedersen.
The forward arrives in Soweto with a strong reputation and an impressive goalscoring record, and has already been nicknamed ‘baby Haaland’ by the Bucs faithful.
Naturally, fans have been eager to find out if their new frontman will be thrown straight into the starting line-up for today’s opening league match against Milford FC.
Will new Orlando Pirates striker make debut against Milford?
However, head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has confirmed that supporters will have to wait a little longer before they get to see him in action. The Norwegian striker is yet to arrive in South Africa as he continues to sort out ‘administrative issues’.
“Of course, you know when you sign a player there’s a whole lot of administrative issues, but hopefully he will come to South Africa soon. I’m quite sure that he will not be part of the opening game,” Ouaddou said as per Kick Off when asked if Pedersen could make his debut against Milford.
Orlando Pirates are not short of options up top. Boitumelo Radiopane, Yanele Mbuthuma and Evidence Makgopa will all be hoping to be given a chance to impress against Milford.
