Talk about not resting on your laurels. Having won a domestic treble last season, Orlando Pirates are wasting no time adding further depth to their already formidable squad.
The Buccaneers have officially welcomed their ninth new signing ahead of the new campaign, unveiling former Stellenbosch FC youngster Thapelo Mokobodi.
The 23-year-old midfielder first burst onto the scene during a stellar debut professional campaign with Marumo Gallants before earning a swift move to Cape outfit Stellenbosch FC.
After making 28 appearances and anchoring the Stellies midfield last season, the engine-room operator has now been snapped up by Soweto giants Orlando Pirates ahead of the new campaign.

The Buccaneers have been busy in the transfer market. On Wednesday morning, the club officially confirmed the arrival of Thapelo Mokobodi from Stellenbosch on a three-year contract.

“I am pleased to be here and look forward to meeting the rest of the team,” Mokobodi told the club’s media department. “It’s a big opportunity to play for such a club and I am ready to get going. I would like to make a meaningful contribution to this great institution.”
He becomes the ninth new signing at Orlando Pirates. The club have already announced the arrivals of Ghampani Lungu, Neo Rapoo, Bohale Ngwato, Matome Mmolai, Sbangani Zulu, Aphiwe Baliti, Mthetheleli Mthiyane and Sebastian Pedersen.
