Kaizer Chiefs have officially confirmed the departure of Uruguayan star Gaston Sirino. The 35-year-old winger joined the club back in 2024 from rivals Mamelodi Sundowns on a free-transfer.
The talented winger was expected to be a marquee signing for the Glamour Boys however, he leaves the club with a largely underwhelming legacy.
Sirino made a total of 52 appearances for the Glamour Boys. He managed to find the back of the net just five times while assisting eight more goals for the club.

“As Kaizer Chiefs bid farewell to Gaston Sirino, the Club would like to express sincere gratitude to Papi for his dedication and contribution over the past two seasons. The experienced Uruguayan midfielder played a key role in helping Amakhosi achieve success since he arrived at the Club,” an official club statement read on Monday afternoon.
Fresh reports suggest Sirino is now set to join Durban City FC for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

Possible replacements revealed
The Glamour Boys will now have to find a replacement for him as the club are thin on wingers. Pule Mmodi is officially the only natural left-winger at the club. One player the club should monitor is Seluleko Mahlambi (21 years old) from TS Galaxy.
Galaxy are a selling club, meaning if the right offer comes in, Tim Sukazi usually doesn’t hesitate to let some of his top talents go. Mahlambi scored six goals while assisting six more in his maiden professional campaign last season.
Another player Chiefs should be looking at is Langelihle Phili (21 years old) from Stellenbosch FC. He too enjoyed a stunning breakout season, scoring eight goals while assisting one more.
