Hugo Broos has assembled a Bafana Bafana attacking unit with genuine variety for the 2026 FIFA World Cup – pace, physicality, technical quality and experience all represented across seven forward options.
Iqraam Rayners – Mamelodi Sundowns
The most valuable player in the Betway Premiership according to Transfermarkt, valued at €3 million. Rayners has been one of the most clinical strikers in South African football over the past two seasons and arrives at the World Cup in excellent form following Sundowns’ CAF Champions League triumph.
Tshepang Moremi – Orlando Pirates
One of the young stars of Pirates’ historic title-winning season. Moremi showed tremendous ability to get in behind defences and create chances, combining pace with intelligent movement. A player who could surprise opponents at the World Cup.

Relebohile Mofokeng – Orlando Pirates
Perhaps the most exciting talent in the entire squad. The 21-year-old winger has been one of the most dynamic players in the Betway Premiership this season, contributing 10 goals and 6 assists in Pirates’ title campaign. Fast, direct and almost impossible to stop in one-on-one situations. The World Cup is the perfect stage for him.
Evidence Makgopa – Orlando Pirates
A powerful and mobile striker who has been a reliable contributor for both Pirates and Bafana Bafana. Makgopa brings physicality and aerial ability that offers Broos a different option up front when needed.
Themba Zwane – Mamelodi Sundowns
Known as Mshishi, Zwane is one of the most experienced and technically gifted players in the squad. The Sundowns stalwart brings creativity, vision and the ability to unlock defences with a single moment of brilliance. At 36 this is likely his final World Cup.

Lyle Foster – Burnley
Foster is the only player in the squad currently playing in one of Europe’s top five leagues and brings a level of technical and physical development that comes from competing at Premier League level. His hold-up play, aerial ability and clinical finishing make him Broos’ most complete striking option.
Thapelo Maseko – AEL Limassol (on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns)
A technically gifted wide forward who has gained valuable experience in Cyprus this season. Maseko provides Broos with a creative option from wide areas and adds depth to the attacking unit.
