Messi has done it again. The Argentine legend became the fastest player in MLS history to reach 100 regular season goal contributions, achieving the milestone with a goal and two assists in Inter Miami’s 4-2 win over Toronto FC on Saturday.
Messi needed just 64 matches to register 59 goals and 41 assists, comfortably surpassing the previous record held by Sebastian Giovinco, who reached the landmark in 95 games for Toronto FC.

Rodrigo De Paul also contributed a goal and two assists as Inter Miami bounced back from a 4-3 home defeat to Orlando City the previous week, extending their road winning streak to six matches.
The numbers across Messi’s career remain almost impossible to comprehend. The 38-year-old has won back-to-back Landon Donovan MLS MVP awards in 2024 and 2025, helped Inter Miami win the MLS Cup, Leagues Cup and Supporters’ Shield, and now holds a world-record 47 career titles for both club and country.
His overall career tally stands at 907 goals and 410 assists.

The milestone arrives just weeks before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Messi and Argentina will look to defend their 2022 title on home soil across North America. At 38, he shows no signs of stopping.
