From Manchester City’s historic 100-point season to Liverpool’s record-breaking near-misses, these are the greatest single-season points tallies the Premier League has ever seen.

1. Manchester City – 100 points (2017-18) The only side in English top-flight history to reach three figures. City won 32 games, scored 106 goals and finished 19 points clear of Manchester United – the largest winning margin in Premier League history. An untouchable season.

2. Liverpool – 99 points (2019-20) Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for the title in a season disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. They wrapped up the championship with seven games to spare – the earliest title win in Premier League history.

3. Manchester City – 98 points (2018-19) City retained the title with another record-breaking campaign, winning 32 games again and edging Liverpool by a single point in one of the tightest title races the Premier League has seen.
