According to The Guardian, tensions between the pair first boiled over during training on Wednesday before escalating again on Thursday at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training base.
Reports claim Valverde accused Tchouaméni of leaking details of their earlier altercation to the media and refused to shake his hand at training. The disagreement reportedly turned physical, with Valverde suffering a cut to the head after falling into a table during the clash.
The Uruguay international was taken to hospital for treatment and later received stitches. Real Madrid have since confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened against both players.

The incident is the latest sign of unrest at the Spanish giants, who are on the brink of finishing a second straight season without silverware. Reports in Spain suggest divisions in the dressing room have continued to grow, with several players and staff members involved in heated confrontations in recent months.
Real now head into Sunday’s El Clásico against FC Barcelona trailing their rivals by 11 points in La Liga. A defeat would officially hand Barcelona the title.
