De Zerbi open to Spurs move

Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to plan for next season despite their ongoing relegation battle, with Roberto De Zerbi emerging as a leading candidate for the head coach role.

According to The Telegraph, the Italian is open to taking the job on a permanent basis if Spurs secure their Premier League status.

Tottenham’s immediate focus remains on survival after their recent defeat to Nottingham Forest, but discussions over the club’s long-term direction are already underway. De Zerbi, who left Marseille by mutual consent earlier this year, has held talks with the club as part of that process.

Interim coach Igor Tudor remains in charge for now, although his long-term future appears uncertain. Spurs have made it clear that a permanent appointment will be made ahead of next season, regardless of how the current campaign ends.

De Zerbi is viewed as a strong candidate due to his experience in European football and his attacking style, which aligns with the club’s identity. He previously impressed in the Premier League during his time at Brighton before moving to Marseille, where he guided the club to second place in Ligue 1.

Mauricio Pochettino is also among the names linked with the role, but his current commitment to the United States national team complicates any immediate return.

Alongside the search for a new head coach, Tottenham are also progressing with plans to restructure their football department. Sebastian Kehl has emerged as a candidate for a senior role after leaving Borussia Dortmund, while other names have also been considered.

Spurs are expected to make key decisions in the coming months as they look to reshape the club, with survival in the Premier League remaining the priority.
