Dithejane will reunite with fellow South African and former Orlando Pirates captain Mbekezeli Mbokazi at the club as part of Fire’s long-term squad planning.
The former TS Galaxy attacker attracted significant interest during the current campaign after contributing four goals and six assists.
Several clubs monitored his situation, including Mamelodi Sundowns, whose bid was ultimately unsuccessful, before Chicago Fire secured his signature.
Dithejane, who came through the Kaizer Chiefs youth system before establishing himself in the Premier Soccer League, addressed supporters via social media shortly after the announcement. He described the move as an honour and highlighted his eagerness to contribute on the pitch and engage with the club’s fan base.
The transfer marks Dithejane’s first move outside South Africa and represents a strategic step into a competitive international environment as he enters the next phase of his career.
