Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to sign Conor Gallagher for a reported €40 million after the midfielder opted to join Spurs, despite Atlético Madrid also holding talks with Aston Villa earlier in the day.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the signing of Conor Gallagher following the player’s decision to join the north London club in a permanent transfer valued at approximately €40 million.

Reports confirmed that Gallagher personally informed Atlético Madrid of his choice, bringing clarity to a competitive transfer situation that had involved multiple clubs.

While Atlético had reached a club-to-club agreement with Aston Villa, the move did not progress after Gallagher declined to give his final approval.

Tottenham subsequently moved ahead of Villa in the race by securing the player’s consent, paving the way for a full transfer agreement. The deal is understood to be a permanent move, with Spurs meeting the financial terms required to complete the transfer.
