Ngumoha signs first professional contract with Liverpool

Liverpool have confirmed that Rio Ngumoha has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old forward joined the Reds’ Academy in September 2024 after leaving Chelsea’s youth system and has since progressed through multiple age levels to the senior side.

Ngumoha has made five senior appearances to date. His Premier League debut came against Newcastle United in August 2025, where he scored the decisive goal in the 100th minute of a 3-2 win.

He has also featured in the Carabao Cup, most recently in the third-round victory over Southampton, and made his first UEFA Champions League appearance as a substitute against Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

At youth level, Ngumoha represented Liverpool’s U18, U19, and U21 squads during the 2024/25 season. His senior debut was handed to him by manager Arne Slot in January 2025 during an FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley.

Ngumoha is also a regular at international level, representing England at U19. His progression from academy signing to senior contributor within a year highlights his integration into Liverpool’s squad rotation and his potential role in the club’s long-term planning.
