Struggling Siwelele FC host inconsistent Orlando Pirates on Tuesday evening in the Betway Premiership.

Siwelele come into the fixture with one win in their last seven league matches. Their most recent results include a 2-0 loss against Magesi and a 2-0 loss against Durban City.

At home, Siwelele have taken four points from their last three fixtures, with a 0-0 draw against Richards Bay, a 1-0 defeat to Polokwane, and a 3-1 win over Golden Arrows.

Orlando Pirates approach the match with five wins from their last six competitive fixtures in all competitions. They recorded a 3-0 away win over Lioli in the CAF Champions League last weekend and a 3-0 MTN8 semi-final win against Stellenbosch.

In league action, Pirates defeated Chippa United 3-0 and Orbit College 1-0, while their last league defeat came against Marumo Gallants in mid-August. Away from home, Pirates have won back-to-back matches against Chippa United and Lioli but prior to that won against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 and lost to Marumo Gallants in the league.

The fixture is the first meeting between the two clubs under Siwelele’s new identity since the club reformation. In the standings, Pirates sit within the league’s top positions, while Siwelele remain in the lower half after six games.

Pirates have produced consistent away results, scoring at least two goals in their last three away matches in the Premiership.

The match gives Orlando Pirates a chance to reduce the gap at the top of the table from 8th place, while Siwelele aim to collect points to move away from 14th. A win would move Pirates into contention for the top four, overtaking Polokwane City and sitting just behind Kaizer Chiefs.
