Costa, Mofokeng, Makhaula dominate 2024/25 PSL Awards

Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Pirate’s Mofokeng and stole the spotlight at the 2024/25 PSL Awards on Tuesday evening, walking with an impressive haul of four major accolades.

Orlando Pirates’ rising talent Relebohile Mofokeng also enjoyed a breakthrough evening, clinching both the Betway Premiership Young Player of the Season and MTN8 Last Man Standing awards.

In the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Muzomuhle Khanyi of Hungry Lions was recognised for his stellar campaign by winning both the Playersโ€™ Player of the Season and the Top Goal Scorer awards. Casric Starsโ€™ Teboho Lekhatla earned the Young Player of the Season honour, while Durban Cityโ€™s Dumsani Msibi was named Goalkeeper of the Season.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso was named Betway Premiership Coach of the Season, adding to the clubโ€™s strong showing. Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates dominated the individual positional awards, with Sipho Chaine (Goalkeeper of the Season), Nkosinathi Sibisi (Defender of the Season), and Makhehleni Makhaula (Midfielder of the Season) each claiming top honours.

Kaizer Chiefs winger Pule Mmodi took home the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament award, while Orlando Piratesโ€™ Mbekezeli Mbokazi was named the Most Promising Player of the Tournament. In the Carling Knockout, Magesi FCโ€™s Elvis Chipezeze was honoured as Player of the Tournament.

In the DStv Diski Challenge, Stellenbosch FCโ€™s Tylon Smith continued his rise by earning the Player of the Season title, while Orlando Piratesโ€™ Siphamandla Msezane finished as the divisionโ€™s Top Goal Scorer.

Match officials were also recognised, with Kgara Mokoena named Assistant Referee of the Season and Masixole Bambiso honoured as Referee of the Season.
