Joao Felix joins Ronaldo at Al Nassr

Joao Felix is set to join Al-Nassr after the Saudi Pro League side agreed a deal worth up to £43.7 million with Chelsea. The Portugal international has been granted permission to travel to Riyadh for a medical ahead of completing the transfer.

The BBC report that the 25-year-old will reunite with compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, with Al-Nassr fending off interest from Felix’s former club Benfica to secure the deal. Chelsea recoup most of the £45 million they paid Atletico Madrid last summer, having also earned £5 million from loaning Felix to AC Milan in January.

The move is part of Chelsea’s wider effort to balance the books, having already sold goalkeepers Djordje Petrovic and Kepa Arrizabalaga, along with winger Noni Madueke. They have brought in around £130 million so far this window, with more sales expected. Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga and Armando Broja are all available for transfer.

Despite recent spending of £212 million on signings like Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro, Chelsea remain under pressure from UEFA to end the summer with a positive transfer balance. The club was fined £27 million and must meet financial rules or risk being barred from registering new signings for the Champions League.
