Orlando Pirates are poised for a record-breaking transfer window, with the sale of Mohau Nkota already confirmed and another major move for Relebohile Mofokeng reportedly in the works.
Nkota, who played a key role in the Buccaneers’ run to the CAF Champions League semi-finals, has completed a high-profile move to Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq.

The 21-year-old forward is reported to have signed a three-year contract worth over R12 million annually. Reports suggest the transfer fee sits at around £1.5 million (R36 million), with performance-based add-ons potentially raising the deal to £2.15 million (R52 million).
Nkota’s rise from the club’s youth academy to the global stage is a major success story for Pirates’ development system. Just three years ago, he was featuring in the DStv Diski Challenge; now, he’s on course for one of the most lucrative contracts ever secured by a Pirates graduate.

His departure alone brings in a significant return — but Orlando Pirates’ total earnings could still exceed R100 million if winger Relebohile Mofokeng secures a move abroad. Earlier this week, reports linked the talented youngster with Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven. However, Pirates have since dismissed the speculation, firmly denying any formal interest from the Eredivisie club.
