AC Milan’s newly-appointed manager Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Luka Modric will join the Rossoneri in August, following the conclusion of the Club World Cup.
The 39-year-old Croatia captain is set to bring an end to his illustrious 13-year career at Real Madrid, having already announced his departure in May.
“Modric will arrive in August. He is an extraordinary player,” Allegri told reporters during his first press conference since returning to the Milan dugout.
Real Madrid faced Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday, losing 4-0 to the French side as Luka played his final game for Los Blancos then with the Club World Cup final scheduled for Sunday.

Modric, the 2018 Ballon d’Or winner, will join a Milan side eager to rebuild after finishing eighth in Serie A last season and missing out on European qualification.
“To the fans, I say the most important thing is to work well every day,” said Allegri. “The only way to regain respect is through responsibility and by achieving results. We will absolutely need their support.”
Back at the helm after replacing the dismissed Sergio Conceicao in late May, Allegri also confirmed significant movement in the squad.
