The Premier League has announced its eight nominees for the 2024/25 Young Player of the Season award, recognising the breakout stars aged 23 or under who have shone this campaign.
The shortlist features a mix of explosive attackers, composed defenders, and midfield maestros:
Cole Palmer (Chelsea) – The former Manchester City academy product has been Chelsea’s standout performer, delivering consistent goal contributions (15) and creativity in a turbulent season for the Blues.
William Saliba (Arsenal) – A defensive rock for the Gunners, his composure and leadership have been vital in their title challenge this season. The centre back has registered a high 2547 passes for the Gunners trailing Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
João Pedro (Brighton) – The Brazilian forward has thrived under Roberto De Zerbi, combining clinical finishing with relentless pressing.
Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest) – The ex-Manchester United winger has been a constant threat with his pace and direct running, ranking third and contributing 11 assists this season.
Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool) – After a slow start, the Dutch midfielder has grown into a dominant box-to-box presence under Arne Slot as he’s also nominated for Premier League player of the season..
Dean Huijsen (Newcastle United, on loan from Juventus) – The towering center-back has impressed with his ball-playing ability and defensive maturity in his debut Premier League season.
Liam Delap (Ipswich Town, on loan from Manchester City) – The powerful striker has been a revelation for the newly promoted side, using his physicality and finishing to trouble defenses.
Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) – A late bloomer, Rogers has flourished under Unai Emery, contributing key goals (10) and assists in Villa’s European push.
