Mamelodi Sundowns dominate PSL awards

Masandawana had an impressive February in the Betway Permiership with seven victories with only one loss thus have claimed PSL’s three accolades of recognition.

The PSL has revealed the winners for February’s Goal of the Month, Player of the Month, and Coach of the Month awards. Coach Miguel Cardoso was named Coach of the Month after leading his team to seven victories and collecting 18 points in the league, despite a setback in their title pursuit against TS Galaxy.

Lucas Ribeiro claimed his second PSL Player of the Month award since joining Mamelodi Sundowns, thanks to an outstanding performance that included eight goal contributions in seven league matches.

The Brazilian also secured the Goal of the Month award for his stunning solo effort against Orlando Pirates. Ribeiro currently tops the league’s scoring charts with 12 goals, solidifying his pursuit of both the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot and the Player of the Season title.

Coach Cardoso’s influence on his squad has been clear, with his team securing 11 wins in their last 12 league games. However, Mamelodi Sundowns narrowly avoided another defeat after a 1-1 draw with Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening. Masandawana now aim to extend their lead to nearly 10 points when they take on AmaZulu on March 11th.
